The master bedroom remains a retreat within ones home. Rest, relaxing & recharging occurs in this space, so it is imperative to make your bedroom truly yours. Trends are constantly changing throughout the home and the master bedroom is no exception. Here are a few of this year’s hottest trends in master bedrooms that Main Street and our team of design professionals love to see.

Terrific Tray Ceilings
Tray ceilings are a wonderful way to open up a space. Traditionally used in dining or great rooms, tray ceilings have now begun expanding to rooms all across the home. This elegant touch truly brightens and expands the entire bedroom. If you want to add vibrant pop, try recessed rope lighting in the tray ceiling to warm up the space.

Mixing Materials
Mixing & matching materials in any space has become an exciting way to vary colors and textures– the master bedroom is no exception! Add layers of throw pillows to your bed to give depth, but make sure each of those pillows are something lively & different. You can put a houndstooth next to a paisley, while a chevron chair nestles up to a distressed wood bedside table.  Go wild & have fun, make the space your own!

Patterns, Patterns, Patterns
Speaking of materials, there are literally hundreds of patterns you could use in the master bedroom to set any tone you want. You could go the serious route and incorporate minimal patterns with a muted color palette, while adding curled & unique patterns for a fun flair. Patterns can be used throughout the room in unexpected places– lampshades, ceilings, accent walls & artwork too!
These looks are easily achievable and Main Street Homes will help you incorporate them into your new home. We have a Design Studio with trained, professional designers prepared to help you navigate the new home building process.  Feel free to join us for a tour of our Design Studio, every Tuesday from 5:15 – 7:15.
